Last week, Orlando Police Department Lt., Debra Clayton was pursuing Markeith Loyd for killing his pregnant ex-girlfriend. When Lt. Clayton found him outside a Walmart store in Orlando, she was fatally shot. In recent history, the killing of police officers hasn’t been a top priority for the President of the United States. But then the President wasn’t a man like Donald J. Trump.
Having heard of this tragic murder of one of our officers in blue, 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump, made a point amidst busy inauguration festivities to call the Lt. Clayton’s husband, Seth Clayton. Local news reported that the Florida State Attorney General, Pam Bondi said that on Wednesday Trump and Seth had a “brief, very touching, private conversation between two husbands.” Lt. Debra Clayton was dearly loved by her family and had many devoted friends in the Orlando community.
Lt. Clayton’s 3-hr funeral service was held at the First Baptist Church of Orlando. The Police Chief, John Mina had posthumously promoted (Master Sergeant) Clayton to the rank of Lieutenant. Those honors put the crowd on their feet applauding. Police Chief said, “[Clayton] exhibited the best in policing. She urged the people to not give up on our Police Department.” Clayton was known for working to build better relations between the community and the department. Her work earned her roles such as a public liaison officer. Her legacy and work had drawn the support of law enforcement from all across the country to Orlando in support of Lt. Debra Clayton’s family.
After having suffered years at the hands of the Obama Administration, law enforcement will see the deserved respect for their work and sacrifice from the new Administration. I have been sickened to watch Obama treat criminals like heroes and heroes like trash… I am so grateful that we have a respectful President who understands the sacrifice of our military and police officers. God Bless the 45th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump and God Bless the USA.
